Walks in and around Malton

Take the opportunity to explore this pretty market town and discover some of the delights about the more important buildings and their history. Begin your walk in the Market Square.

Walk through the Shambles with its rows of individual shops, originally home to a number of butchers.

Continue up to the Cattle Market, where regular farmers are held before turning right and right again into Wheelgate bustling with its array of shops.

Pass Suddaby's brewery, before making your way to the ancient St Mary's Priory in Old Malton.

Return via the footpath alongside the river to the Roman fort in the serene setting of Orchard Fields, and the via the Stone Bridge, Centenary Way and Iron Bridge.

Finally arrive back at the elegant St Michaels Church in the market square.
