Pickering Shopping

Pickering - Shopping

If shopping is your passion, then you won’t be disappointed with a trip to Pickering. If what you are looking for is proving elusive Pickering will probably solve your problem.  With nearly 100 independent retailers, there is a huge choice of goods and products on offer in our quintessential market town.

There are specialist shops selling everything from clothes, outdoor gear and bikes to jewellery, books and handmade chocolates.  Throw in a flea market, antique centre, second hand bookshop, model shop, two galleries, an agricultural merchant and two hardware businesses and you can see why there is something for everyone.  This selection is further enhanced every Monday where there is a traditional market in the centre of town, in addition there is a monthly Farmers' Market.

Whist the majority of shops and other commercial outlets are in or near the Market Place, don't miss Park Street, Hungate, Westgate and Eastgate Square all just a few minutes away.

Need a breather whilst shopping?  Pickering has an excellent selection of cafes and tearooms offering a full range of drinks and food.  Most businesses use local produce with a high percentage of homemade items and some of them have outside seating areas for sunny afternoons.  There are pubs and restaurants aplenty for when you fancy something stronger or more substantial.

There is a complete shopping and eating package in Pickering to complement our unique cultural heritage.  For those of you unlucky enough not to live in Pickering, you really need to visit more often and stay for longer to get the full Pickering experience!
