Location of The Cornmill, Kirkbymoorside
Please find below the directions to get to The Cornmill, assuming you are travelling North on the M1 / A1.
Leave the A1(M) at the A168 Thirsk / (A19) Teesside exit, which is Junction 49 of the A1(M).
Leave the A168 at the A170 exit (signposted for Thirsk, Scarborough, and York).
At the exit roundabout, take the first exit, and then turn right at the next roundabout onto the A170 to Scarborough.
After about 25 miles (and after passing through Sutton-Under-Whitestonecliffe and Helmsley), you will come to Kirkbymoorside.
Go straight over the roundabout and continue for about half a mile. You will see an exit on your left marked “Keldholme Only”. Continue past this exit for about 200 yards and then take the left turn into Kirby Mills.
Our car park entrance is about 20 yards up on your right.
Note that SatNav will almost certainly direct you into the part of Kirby Mills on the South side of the A170 (rather than our bit on the North side)
Public Transport Directions
The Scarborough to Helmsley EYMS service 128 passes the end of our road. Get off at the Keldholme Lane End stop. If travelling from Scarborough / Pickering, you will have to cross the road into the part of Kirby Mills that is on the north side of the A170. Our entrance driveway is about 30 yards up on the right (just after the bungalow) and is marked "Entrance and Parking"
The nearest railway station is in Malton about 15 miles away. Taxis are usually available at the station, or we can provide phone numbers of taxi firms if requested. In addition, Malton bus station is about 75 yards from the railway station and you can get a Yorkshire Coastliner bus (which also serves York railway station) from there to Pickering Eastgate, where you can meet up with the 128 from Scarborough (see previous paragraph)
